On Monday 5 October 2020 during the event “Italy for Sustainability and the Agenda 2023” at the Italian Residence in Tirana, Fatlum Brahimi, one of the\u00a0<\/span>cheese <\/span>producers of Shija and Veriut, was awarded the recognition of membership to the Made With Italy brand.<\/span><\/p>\n

For many years, Fatlum and his family have been contributing to the sustainable development of the local community of Mjed\u00eb (Vau Dej\u00ebs) with their dairy, the Baxho Hysa, offering the Albanian market, quality dairy products starting from sheep and cows milk produced in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event aimed to present the main activities and best practices in Albania in favor of strategic issues such as environmental sustainability, the circular economy, education for healthy lifestyles that respect the environment and the society in which we live. These are just some of the objectives of the “Shija and Veriut” brand, created to promote and enhance local production, strongly linked to the territory, in support of breeders, farmers, artisans, and tour operators in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cheese with the \u201cShija e Veriut\u201d brand is a high-quality product that comes from the pastures of the municipalities of Vau Dej\u00ebs, Puk\u00eb, and Fush\u00eb Arr\u00ebz. The production takes place in full compliance with traditional codified practices regarding the animal breeding and processing of milk, offering white cheese or Ka\u00e7kavall with a unique and 100% natural taste.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participation in the event was made possible thanks to the project “Alliance for the Development and Enhancement of Family Agriculture in Northern Albania”, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation – AICS and implemented by Volontari nel Mondo RTM, COSPE, PfD, Hapa t\u00eb Leht\u00eb.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
