Towns & Villages
Have you ever heard about Albanian hospitality? Well, a bit of time in town or any remote village will convince even the most sceptical visitors that such concept is no fantasy, but a genuine and unforgettable atmosphere that surrounds every new encounter.
Pukë

Puka is one of the most fascinating alpine centers in northern Albania. Built on a plateau over 800 metres above sea level, the town offers picturesque views in all seasons: warm autumn colors, frequent winter snowfalls, rich spring blooms and fresh mountain air in summer. With a surface of ca. 500 square kilometres and a population of over 11,000 inhabitants, Puka is known for its almost completely mountainous territory, covered with forests and meadows that represent precious foundations for development of touristic and agri-food offer.

Fushë Arrëz
![]()
The town of Fushë Arrëz is located between the right bank of the Fan i Madh River and the mountains of northeastern Albania. It has been an important point on the road linking Scutari to the cities of Kosovo. It was once known as a woodworking centre and for its mineral resources. The municipality of Fushë Arrëz and its many remote villages have increasingly turned their attention to tourism development. Alpine pastures, rocky peaks, and forests create ideal landscapes for tourists who like to venture into trails that still not well-trod but impressive.

Vau Dejës
![]()
Vau Dejës is a classic piedmont town with approximately 30,000 inhabitants. It is surrounded: in the north-east by the Drini River; in the south-west by the Gjader River; in the north-west by the Puka Mountains. It was developed after the construction of the homonym hydroelectric power plant on the Drini. The municipality presents some archaeological remains of national importance and some real natural oases of delights. A few minutes away from Vau Dejës, we can find ruins of ancient times: the settlements of Sarda, on the homonym island, and the ones of Danja. These and other attractions make the municipality of Vau Dejës an essential must-see for those who want to explore the north of Albania.

Iballë
![]()
About 30 kilometers north-west of Fushë Arrëz, on a plateau surrounded by mountains, we can find the village of Iballë, a settlement considered one of the oldest in this area. Archaeological remains suggest that it was the most important center of these mountains in pre-Roman times, thanks to the processing of metals for wartime and ornamental purposes. In Iballë there was one of the first Albanian-language schools in northern Albania. Today the village represents a small oasis of tranquility and potential rest stop for excursions through the many surrounding peaks.

Dardhë
![]()
The village of Dardhë is one of the most picturesque in our territory and the municipality of Fushë Arrëz. Located at the foot of Kunora Dardhë and about 40 kilometres from Fushë Arrëz on the road to Bajram Curri, Dardhë overlooks the Lake Fierza. The village offers striking views of creeks, woods, and lush meadows.

Kryezi
![]()
The village of Kryezi, a few kilometres from Fushë Arrëz, has recently been included among the 100 tourist villages named, by the Government of Albania, like small towns with potential for economic and tourism development. Kryezi is located in the middle of a valley with a microclimate suitable for fruit farming, thanks to the presence of the River Fan i Madhë and the numerous small tributaries. In this village, you can have the opportunity to enjoy the best of the season and the local products. Besides, a refreshing excursion to Kryezi Falls is a welcome remedy for those who want to escape from the summer heats.
